C. 20520 Recently, the Department of State?s Bureau ofDiplomatic Security (DS) conducted a classi?cation review of emails that had been sent either to or from one of Secretary Hillary R. Clinton?s private email addresses during her tenure as Secretary of State. It has been determined that, at the time they were sent, a number of these emails contained classified information which were not properly marked as such. The introduction of classified information or media into an unclassified system represents a security incident 12 FAM Security incidents are categorized as infractions or violations, based on whether there is a reasonable expectation that an unauthorized disclosure of classi?ed information has occurred. infractions being the less serious ofthe two. See 13.0. 15326 6.1; 12 FAM 0013. You have been identified as possibly bearing some culpability in? security incidents. In accordance with 12 FAM 553.1 and 556, you are being given an opportunity to provide additional. potentially mitigating information that you would like considered prior to final adjudication of these incidents by APD. If you wish to submit information. please do so within ten (10) calendar days of the date oftltis letter. As the information involved is classified, you may request access to the document(s) via classi?ed email or you can request to view them at our office. Upon receipt of additional information. or upon notice that you do not wish to provide any such information, DSKISEAPD will conduct a final adjudication ofthe incidents. You will then be notified of the final disposition ofthe incidents. along with applicable appeal options.
