NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY DELHI SECTOR-14, DWARKA NEW DELHI-110078 Date June 30, 2020 N O T I F I C A I T O N-AILET 2020 (revised) This is in supersession to the Admission Notice issued by the National Law University Delhi dated 14th January, 2020 for admission to the B.A.LL.B.(Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes for the academic year 2020-21 with 50% reservation for students from Delhi, 22% reservation for OBC & 10% for EWS. The decision of University for providing reservation for students from Delhi was challenged in the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi through W. P. (C) 3454/2020 Balvinder Singh Sangwan & Ors Versus State (GNCT) of Delhi Through Chief Secretary & Ors. The Hon’ble High Court of Delhi on 29th June 2020 has ordered that the “status quo ante as of previous academic year shall be maintained for making admissions to the B.A.LL.B.(Five Year Programme), LL.M.(One Year Programme) in NLU Delhi for the academic year 2020-21”. In view of orders passed by Hon’ble Delhi High Court, the seats matrix is accordingly rolled back in consonance with the academic year 2019-20 as under: B.A.LL.B. (Hons.)- Five-Year Programme Eligibility: Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or Equivalent Examination with 50% marks. The candidates appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/April, 2020 can also apply. Total Seats: 80 [70 Seats on merit through All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and 10 Seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit (5 seats for Foreign Nationals & 5 seats for OCI/PIO)]. Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET. Foreign Nationals to be eligible should have obtained 65% marks in the qualifying examination. Reservation: 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 5% for Persons with Disabilities. Note: One additional supernumerary seat for Kashmiri Migrants. Two additional supernumerary seats for Residents of Jammu & Kashmir. Page 1 LL.M.-One-Year Programme Eligibility: LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities). The candidates appearing in final year LL.B. Examination in April/May, 2020 can also apply. The NTA has given consent for the same. Now the AILET 2020 will be conducted on August 18, 2020 from 11.00 to 12.30 Hrs (90 mts) on RPT mode. Before the test, the NTA will provide the detailed information and guidance to the aspirants for which two webinars & one mock test for the AILET 2020 will be conducted by NTA. The schedule of the webinars & mock test will be notified shortly. In view of the change in the reservation policy & seat matrix as per orders passed by the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi and further change in the mode of test from pen and paper test to RPT mode, the University has decided to allow the option of withdrawal to the candidates, who want to withdraw their application for admission to B.A.LL.B.(Hons), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes. Such candidates can withdraw their application through the following link and provide their bank account details for refund of application fee paid by them. https://forms.gle/pW5czuLwsgv9rL4aA The candidates are required to login to the above link by using their registered email id for the AILET 2020. The above link for withdrawal of application form will be activate from 1st July to 7th July, 2020. Any request for the withdrawal of AILET 2020 registration will not be entertained after July 7, 2020. Further as per directions of the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, the last date for submission of online application forms is also extended upto July 7, 2020. July 27, 2020. The BA.LL.B. Programme shall be fully residential course. However, in case of LL.M/Ph.D. the policy of the previous years shall continue i.e. the candidates admitted in these courses will not be offered hostel accommodation due to paucity of hostel accommodation.
