H-umbercrest Public'SCHoOi" 14 St Marks Road York, Ontario ?Canada' May 18, "2016 Dear lVlr._ Manfred, This is Mme Stevens? class from Humbercrest Public School in Toronto, Ontario. We are in grade fouryears old. We are writing to give oUr opinions about the incident on Sunday at the Jays?Rangers game. We think whart'happe'rie'd on Sunday was wrong; We feel the players? behaviour was irresponsible, disrespectful and immature. A lot of people are talking about the reasons for the fight, we don?t think the reasons matter. We know that when you are mad you should use your words and not your fists unless fighting is the only waylto protect yourself or someone else. No one was being protected in this case. Because a lot of young people look up to pro athletes, they could think this is okay and copy it. Also, parents might worry that a baseball game is not a good environl'ment to bring children to, so the MLB could sell fewer tickets if that happens. Also, we feel that someone could have been injured, or might be injured if something similar happens on anotheroccasion. We think that the censequences given for this incident are n?t acce ptable. athletes were acting like children, even though they should know better. school in Toronto, students who fight or assault someone can be suspended for'_u'pra1a: ~days. Odor only received an 8?game suspension and that?s not right. He?s adult, and playing baseball is his job, so he should have greater self?discipline at work? Because he didn?t show restraint, he should receive greater consequences. We have learned that even playersand coaches can make l'rni's'takes. They should treat others the way they want to be treated. We feel the teams should have controlled their players better and hope they will next the meantime, we?d like . to see a longer suspension for'Qdor. I I We look forward to your response. Sincerely, - NJ??gfa' Sognki Ipackmk Ragg, t? Rnohetj?dqg?? ti otaa a A a i I ?6L?Cta?r?Jx"? I . ?5 gm
