STATE OF TEXAS AF IDAVIT FOR ARREST WARRANT COUNTY OF DALLAS BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority, on this day personally appeared the undersigned af?ant who, after being duly sworn by me, on oath stated: My name is E. Parker and I am a peace of?cer of the City of Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. I, the af?ant, have good rson and do believe that on or about the 2_2, day of Jung, 20 one (name of suspect) Jonathan Ryan Edelen_did then and there in the City of Dallas, Dallas County, Texas commit the offense o?Murder a violation of Section 19.02 of the a_Fl. Afiiant's belief is based upon the following facts and information which Af?ant received from: Af?ant?s personal investigation of this alleged offense. a fellow peace of?cer of the City of Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, who personally participated in the investigation of this alleged offense, providing this information to Affiant, and whose information Affiant believes to be credible. On June 22, 2015, at approximately 11:00pm Suspect Jonathan Ryan Edelen committed the offense of Murder when he suffocated and killed the complainant, Ceaira Sedia Nequay Ford while they were in their bedroom. The complainant died as a result of her injuries. This offense occurred at 2514 Perryton Dr. #7108, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. The facts of the offense are as follows: Dallas Police Of?cers responded to a call regarding a deceased person. When of?cers arrived they spoke with Rescue Unit #33, who performed CPR on the complainant. Rescue Unit #33 had observed that rigor mortis had already set in. Dallas Police Of?cers arrived and believed they were responding to an unexplained type death. While inside the residence Rescue Unit #33 handed Dallas Police Of?cers a bottle of medication prescribed to the complainant. While inside the apartment Suspect Jonathan Edelen approached Of?cer J. Gordon, #10858, and made a res geste statement, "Put the cu? on me and take me to jail, I killed my wife." Of?cer J. Gordon placed suspect Edelen in handrestraints, and placed him in a marked Dallas Police vehicle. Suspect Edelen was transported to the Dallas Police Headquarters and Spoke with Detective Parker, #7566. After reading Suspect Edelen his Miranda Warning, he gave a video-recorded voluntary statement to committing this offense. SuSpect Edelen informed DetectiVe Parker he and complainant Ford were involved in an argument on 06-22-15. The suspect said the complainant called him at work on 06-22-15 requesting him to come home. The suspect said after he left work, they went to the grocery store. The suspect said the complainant then wanted to purchase marijuiana. The suSpect said once they were at home, the complainant would not stop talking. The suspect said he took a television and took it to the patio to destroy it. The suspect stated this is the only way she would be quiet. The complainant followed the suspect to the patio. The suspect said once on the patio he was attempting to keep the complainant quiet, by placing his hand over her mouth. The complainant went over the patio railing and onto a grassy area. The suspect stated he went after the complainant, . The suspect said they went back into their bedroom, and continued to argue and ?ght. The suspect said he grabbed a blanket, and threw it over the complainant while she was on the mattress. The suSpect said he got on top of the complainant, grabbed a pillow and placed it over her head. The suspect said he continued to hold the pillow down over the complainant's head until she stopped moving. The suspect said when he removed the pillow and blanket, the complainant was non-responsive. The suspect said the complainant was not moving or breathing.
