June 18, 2015 Please Reply to: Atlanta First, I’d like to say that my thoughts and prayers are with the students of McKinney, Texas. I have been retained by the Bakari, Gray, McKeever and Hudson families to assist them in navigating through the criminal justice system to ensure that former McKinney Police Officer David Eric Casebolt and civilian Keith “Skip” Davis are arrested, tried and convicted for their crimes against the children of McKinney. I along with the parents and families of our clients have one primary goal and that is to ensure the safety of the students of McKinney, Texas and to prevent any further injustices against them. Furthermore, we are here today to seek justice for the students of McKinney, Texas who were assaulted, battered, and emotionally distressed at Craig Ranch Subdivision on Friday, June 5. Those members of law enforcement as well as private citizens who have brought harm to our youth must be held accountable for their actions. Violence against children is unacceptable. As officers of the court we took an oath to advocate for our clients and this especially includes advocacy for our most vulnerable members of our society, our youth. Children look to adults and especially adults in positions of authority for protection and safety. Those duties to protect the welfare and safety of the children of McKinney, Texas have been breached. The Civil Rights of our clients and the other students present at Craig Ranch subdivision on Friday, June 5 have been violated. The acts of former McKinney Police Officer David Eric Casebolt and civilian Keith “Skip” Davis against the children of McKinney are reprehensible. In particular, former McKinney Police Officer David Eric Casebolt’s use of force was constitutionally unreasonable in light of the fact that my clients posed no threat to the officer and no threat to others. The use of force against the students present at Craig Ranch on June 5 is unjustified. We have contacted the City of McKinney Police Department, the Texas Rangers, the Collin County Districts Attorney’s Office and several community leaders to ensure that justice is served swiftly for the students of McKinney. We demand total transparency into the open investigation of the incident at Craig Ranch Subdivision in McKinney, Texas on Friday, June 5, 2015. Our clients have pledged their complete cooperation with the appropriate authorities. In sum, we demand that criminal charges be brought against former McKinney Police Officer David Eric Casebolt and civilian Keith “Skip” Davis for their criminal acts. Also, the families wish that these wrongdoers be tried and convicted in an effort to promote justice for all aggrieved parties. “Your Voice in the pursuit of Justice.” ©
