RE: Washington State Auditor?s Office

Dear Attorney General Ferguson:

Pursuant to RCW 43.10.230 and 43.10.232, I hereby request that the Attorney General?s Of?ce
conduct an investigation of possible criminal activities related to Jason Jerue?s (or eRue) hiring
and employment by the Washington State Auditor?s Of?ce under the administration of Auditor
Troy Kelley. I also request that the Washington State Attorney General?s Of?ce initiate and
conduct any prosecution(s) arising from this investigation.

Although the US. Attorney?s Of?ce is currently prosecuting Mr. Kelley for a number of alleged
offenses, I remain concerned about the potential of misconduct relating to his operation of the
Auditor?s Of?ce. Acting State Auditor Jan utte is doing a tremendous job carrying out the
mission of the of?ce, but I believe that the public and affected governmental agencies deserve
greater assuran - that the work of the of?ce during Mr. Kelley?s tenure was handled properly,
particularly as relates the employment of Mr. Jerue.
