Strings in the Park The Medina High School Orchestra will present "Strings in the Park" today, Friday May 22 from noon to 1 pm in Medina's downtown Gazebo Park. Put on a jacket & enjoy some great music from some extraordinarily talented students! Buckin' Ohio Season Opener Memorial Day Essay Contest Winners! Take the kids to Buckin' Ohio, a family owned and operated bucking bull ranch. They have everything from pro bull riding to barrel racing to mutton bustin! There are wagon rides, a boot scramble and live authentic cowboy entertainment. The season opener is Saturday, May 23rd with fun starting at 4:00pm. Memorial Day Events Saturday May 23rd Rittman: Western Reserve National Cemetery: Flag Decoration at 10:00am Sunday May 24th York Township: Parade at 2:00pm Medina Fountain Opens I was fortunate to attend the opening ceremony for Medina's new water fountain in Bicentennial Commons Park across the street from Public Square on Wednesday. Rittman: Western Reserve National Cemetery: Memorial Day Ceremony 3:00pm Monday May 25th Brunswick: The City's Memorial Day Program will be held at 10:00am at Visintainer Middle School, 1459 Pearl Road. Chatham Township: The program begins at 10:00am with a memorial service at the VFW Hall followed by a parade. Granger Township: Memorial Day Activities will begin at 9:00am with a parade from Highland Middle School to Granger Fairview Cemetery. Hinckley Township: The Memorial Day parade begins at 9:00am at Our Lady of Grace Church and ends at the township Hall. Lodi: American Legion Post 523 will host a parade at 9:00am from the American Legion Hall through the center of town to Woodlawn Cemetery. Medina: The city's Memorial Day festivities begin at the Medina County Courthouse on Public Square. There will be a brief ceremony at 10:00am and a parade to Spring Grove Cemetery and guest speaker. Vietnam Veterans Memorial; Medina 1:15pm sponsored by the Medina County VVA Chapter #385 Seville: The parade begins at 1:00pm in front of First Baptist Church. Spencer: The Memorial Day parade begins at 9:00am proceeding t the Cemetery for a ceremony. Brunswick Relay Valley City: The parade kicks off at the Township Community Center at for Life Celebrates 11:00am. Decades of Hope The Brunswick Relay for Life Team invites the community to join in celebrating Decades of Hope at Brunswick High School Saturday May Wadsworth: The city's Memorial Day parade will kick off at 10:30am in front of the American Legion and VFW Hall. Auditor Mike Kovack is the speaker. The Wadsworth American Legion will be serving a Memorial Day breakfast from 7:30 am - 9 am. Westfield Center: Westfield Memorial Parade, 11am, followed by a 30th from 11 am to 11 program at the Westfield Cemetery pm. Admission is free and open to the public. Stroll the Square & Dance Party Main Street Medina is sponsoring its first "Stroll the Square & Community Dance Party Thursday, May 28 from 5-8:30 pm on Medina's Historic Square. Enjoy the pop up gallery hop in various shops throughout the area and music to celebrate the end of the school year. Amputees In Motion Commissioners Consider Another Tax Levy for Ballot After nearly 58% of voters rejected a property tax increase this month, county commissioners are contemplating placing another tax issue on the ballot for November. Read Glenn Wojciak's story in The Post HERE. Amputees in Motion is a support group that meets the second Wednesday of every month from 6-7:30 in the Dining Conference Room at Medina Hospital.
