These programs rely on the services of the laboratory section to support a multitude of scientific, regulatory, and administrative decisions. The Regional Laboratory provides critically time sensitive analyses to DWQ. The Laboratory Certification program certifies approximately 120 commercial, municipal, industrial, and field laboratories in the Region and surrounding states that report data to various DENR programs. The One North Carolina Naturally initiative promotes and coordinates the long-term conservation of North Carolina’s threatened land and water resources. NC DENR’s Office of Conservation, Planning & Community Affairs manages the program by leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive statewide conservation plan involving government agencies, private organizations, landowners and the public. The NCGS administers cooperative geologic mapping agreements with the US Geological Survey, and other federal, state and local government agencies.
